What we do
Onward's Mission
Onward is committed to providing those in our Communities with free, unbiased, and bilingual financial education to support them on their path to financial wellness and empowerment.
The four steps to financial wellness
Classes
Onward with Centra Credit Union partners with organizations such as local businesses, non-profits, and schools to provide financial education in a group setting. Each class focuses on a specific financial topics, and many class participants will later work with one of our coaches to discuss what they learned in the context of their personal finances.
Consulting
Our coaches offer one-on-one consultations to help you through your biggest financial decisions. Whether you're getting your first credit card or loan, buying your first home, or preparing for any other big purchase, you can work with a coach for a limited number of sessions to make sure you have all the information you need.
Counseling
When you're facing a financial emergency, the Onward team can help. Our counseling sessions can help you navigate the financial impacts of income loss or bankruptcy, home or food insecurity, divorce, or the death of a loved one. Counseling often includes additional support from community organizations for basic needs and financial assistance.
Coaching
With coaching from Onward, you have a partner for support and accountability as you work toward your short- and long-term goals. We can help you build your financial foundation with a budget or spending plan and grow from there as you explore your future financial goals. Coaching sessions are typically virtual and can be weekly, biweekly, monthly, or quarterly.
Community Outreach
Onward partners with various local organizations in the Communities Centra serves. These organizations share our mission and vision and help us reach more individuals.

Political Advocacy
Let’s be clear, we do not support legislators, we support legislation. Centra Credit Union, including the Onward team, are driving for critical pieces of missing policy to help provide support to unbanked or underbanked individuals and communities.
IC 20-30-5-19
Pursuant to Indiana Code (IC) 20-30-5-19 (2023), each Indiana school corporation, charter school, and state-accredited non-public school must include a course about financial responsibility, beginning with the class that will graduate in 2028. Onward with Centra Credit Union is seeking to provide curriculum support to a select number of school corporations in the Communities Centra serves.
